Your sure weapon -The Word of God

your sure weapon the word of God faithsuccess christian
The weapon that cannot fail

(Matt 4:3-11 [KJV])
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, IT IS WRITTEN, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Jesus said unto him, IT IS WRITTEN again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: FOR IT IS WRITTEN, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

(Heb 4:12 [KJV])
For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

(Eph 6:17 [KJV])
… and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

The Word of God (sword of the spirit) is the weapon that cannot fail.
Our Arch-enemy (Satan) cannot be overcome by human wisdom, knowledge or inventions. We cannot overcome him the human tricks, latest machine Gun, or nuclear weapon.
The only way to overcome is by applying the Word of God. It is not wise answering Satan with our wisdom, knowledge or philosophies, he has more experience than man. He had been before man was created

Jesus (All wise God & creator of all things  – John 1:3) set an example for us - When the devil tempted Jesus, Jesus never replied by sense knowledge he only gave him the Word of God (Scriptures), saying, "It is written... It is written... It is written..." (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10)

This weapon of the Word of God does not fail.

The weapon of human wisdom will fail
The weapon of human power will fail
The weapon of human inventions will fail (Satan is not afraid of atomic bombs)
But the WORD OF GOD cannot fail.

Today we have heard a lot of philosophies and techniques that people use today to try to overcome Satan, unfortunately some believers also join in it.

Somebody once told me
Anytime I have a problem if I can wake up and drink my first urine, that problem is Gone.
This is not scriptural so I won’t do it

Another told me that anytime he is sick only I can kneel down in front of a refuse dump, he will be whole.
This is also not scriptural

One told me that if he wakes up in the morning and his legs hit a stone, it means the day will be bad.
Another says he predicts his future & days using (horoscope).
This is forbidden by God and not scriptural. But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light, growing brighter and brighter until full day (Prov 4:18 - NET). Your future is in JESUS not in any HOROR-SCOPE

Some people have gone has far as saying the bible is not complete. They say “the 66 books are just part”. They have resulted to using charms and magic, saying it is in the lost books of the bible.
This is a big lie!

Most of the people using these, I have seen haven’t come out from their problems; in fact, they have added problems to their problems. The devil has deceived them.

The only effective weapon is the Word of God. The word of God is effective at all times, seasons and places. It is not confined to any geographical location.  Anything outside the Word of God (scriptures) is not capable of defeating the devil.

I encourage people to read the bible and not to miss their bible study.

Brethren, I want to let us know that the word of God is very potent (effective- Heb 4:12) against any problem we have – spiritual, financial, academic, marital, health, etc Just use the word of God in faith and the VICTORY IS YOURS.

Wishing you a FAITH day!

Is the bible against prosperity?

does the bible condemn prosperity, affluence, financial and material wealth
Does the Bible condemn affluence?

After considering yesterday’s topic on SUCCESS, We were able to conclude that Success is not limited only to Financial, Status, Power and Position Prosperity. And that real success is as a result of fulfilling God’s plan for our life.

We considered the following scriptures yesterday:
(1Tim 6:7-8 [KJV])
For we brought nothing into [this] world, [and it is] certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

(Matt 16:26 [KJV])
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
(Eccl 12:13 [KJV])
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.

Today, we would like to treat the topic which says

Is the bible against prosperity?

Or put it this way - does the bible condemn affluence?

The answer is NO and Our conclusion is derived from the following bible quotations

Scriptures on Affluence (Prosperity)

(2Cor 8:9 [KJV])
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

(3John 1:2 [KJV])
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest PROSPER AND BE IN HEALTH [physical prosperity], EVEN AS THY SOUL PROSPERETH.
(Deut 28:11-13 [KJV])
And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do [them]:

(Prov 15:6 [KJV])
In the house of the righteous [is] much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
 (Prov 22:4 [KJV])
By humility [and] the fear of the LORD [are] riches, and honour, and life.
 (Deut 30:9 [KJV])
And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:
 (Isa 30:23 [KJV])
Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.

(Eccl 5:19 [KJV])
Every man also to whom GOD HATH GIVEN RICHES AND WEALTH, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this [is] the gift of God.
 (Ps 112:1-3 [KJV])
Praise ye the LORD. Blessed [is] the man [that] feareth the LORD, [that] delighteth greatly in his commandments.
His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
WEALTH AND RICHES [shall be] in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

(Job 22:23-25 [KJV])
If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the [gold] of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.

God hates greed (covetousness)
(Luke 12:15 [KJV])
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

(2Pet 2:14 [KJV])
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

(Josh 7:20-21 [KJV])
And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:
When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they [are] hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.

Conclusion

The Bible does not condemn prosperity. God want us to prosper materially but not to set our heart (make our goal) material possessions for there is far more to prosperity that gathering physical wealth.
(Matt 6:33 [KJV])
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The Real definition of Success

(Gen 39:2 [NET])
The LORD was with Joseph. He was SUCCESSFUL and lived in the household of his Egyptian master.

God’s definition of success is contrary to the world’s definition. The World measures success based on what you have done, what you have accomplished and what you have accumulated (i.e Financial, Status, Power and Position Prosperity). It is based entirely on you focusing all your time, energy and resources in meriting titles and receiving awards.

Worldly wisdom promotes the idea that men and women should strive to climb to the top of the corporate ladder at others’ expense, no matter what they must do to attain that goal. This is wrong!

The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God (1 Corinthians 1:22–25).

What men regard as success is not what God regards as success

Today people want to be rich, famous, earn a degree (bachelors, masters, and doctorate or post doctorate) from the world most renowned tertiary institution, they want to work at the best companies, be oil workers, politicians etc. The want riches and fame. This is not bad, but what about your preparation for eternity, what about obeying God’s word & following his plans for your life;  Knowing that the life after death is the REAL LIFE (life not limited by time/life forever).

Do not be deceived

While the world regards financial success or popularity as success, it is not the success that really counts! Financial success or eminence in this world is not true success.

Let’s consider what the scripture says

(1Tim 6:7-8 [KJV])
For we brought nothing into [this] world, [and it is] certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

(Matt 16:26 [KJV])
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

(Eccl 12:13 [KJV])
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.

(Josh 1:8 [KJV])
This book of the law [God’s Word] shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good SUCCESS.

The world’s model of success is unstable and built upon a foundation that is shakable. The World defines SUCCESS only from the earthly point of view, it has nothing to say about ETERNITY (AFTER LIFE ON EARTH).

Unfortunately, you cannot prepare for ETERNITY in ETERNITY, you can only prepare for eternity when you are on earth. Your success in eternity is dependent on the way you live your life here on earth.

Real Success in the Sight of God

Real success in the sight of God is Accepting Jesus as Lord and savior and Fulfilling His Purpose for Your Life. It is accepting Jesus then overcoming the influence of this world, mastering the evil pulls of human nature, and living a righteous life.

There is nowhere in the bible we see the Almighty God congratulating one of His followers on their financial success. God delights in the prosperity of his servants but there is far more to success than mere financial prosperity.

Vanity of vanities, all is vanity (Ecclesiastes 1:2).

The First Step to achieving Success
The first Step to success is accepting Jesus as personal Lord and savior. When this is done, the Holy Ghost begins to shape the person’s life to conform to the will of God. Success comes only through Jesus, the Redeemer of man, who taught us to live by every word of God.

Additional scriptures

(Gen 39:2 [NET])
The LORD was with Joseph. He was SUCCESSFUL and lived in the household of his Egyptian master.

(Jer 9:23-24 [KJV])
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty [man] glory in his might, let not the rich [man] glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.

Convert Your Worries into Prayers

turn your worries into prayer and thanks faithsuccess christian
1 Peter 5:7:
"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

Philippians 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

God does not want us to be anxious but instead cast all our cares, worries on him.

So anytime there is an issue to be anxious of at hand, quickly convert that care or worry into prayer and give thanks to God for hearing your prayers. (God always listens to the prayers of Christians [saints]).

About 12 years back, The U.S. Public Health Service estimated that more than 8 million Americans suffer from mental or nervous illness; that one out of every twenty is destined to spend some time in a mental institution as a result of (fears, worries, tensions and the likes).

Some people claim that smoking quiets and soothes the nerves.  This is not incorrect. “Chloroform does likewise; a small bottle will soothe them perpetually! Chloroform, nicotine and alcohol all belong to the group of poisons known as narcotics. Narcotics put the brain and nerves to sleep by paralyzing them. They deaden the conscience and senses into thinking things are all right when they are not.

So almost a million people in 2004 joined the smoking ranks as a means of escape! (Escape from - fears, anxieties, worries, tensions)”.

Alcohol, smoking, narcotics etc  is never the solution to the problem of worry.

The solution to the problem of worry lies in the lines below:

Philippians 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

1 Peter 5:7:
"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

This makes me to remember when I was coding a webpage, I was nervous because the webpage wasn’t responding properly (I had coded for hours but I wasn’t seeing results). After a while I was led to cast my worries on the lord and decided to leave it. Sooner or later I discovered that I had long coded the webpage successfully but only that the internet connection was poor so I was having problems. Thank God I was led to cast away that anxiety.

Yes, this is how effective casting our cares on God can be.

If God is always attentive to our prayers and there is nothing impossible with God”.

I will conclude with this let us learn how to convert all our worries into prayers.

Self consciousness leads to worry, while God consciousness results in peace.

Please God

Happy New Month to Us all, wishing us a prosperous month in Jesus Name Amen.

pleasing God living a life of holiness in christianity faith success.jpg
Please God

Let’s first consider the difference between righteousness and holiness

Righteousness vs Holiness: Two Separate Things

Ephesians 4:22-24 - AMP:
Strip yourselves of your former nature—put off and discard your old unrenewed self—which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind—having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude; And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God's image, (Godlike) in true righteousness and holiness.
This verse makes us know that righteousness is different from holiness. Righteousness is the right-standing with God you gained when you were saved (born again). The only thing you did to be made righteous was to accept Jesus Christ as your savior and the Lord of your life.

However, Holiness is another area. Holiness is the result of your choices. It's what you do with your time and your actions. It's your conduct. It comes when you make a decision of your will to live according to the precepts of the Lord. In short, holiness is doing those things that PLEASE THE FATHER.

Does God want us to please him?

Answer: Yes, God wants us to please him (A good son will always please the father)

(1Thess 4:1 [NET])
Finally then, brothers and sisters, we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us about how you must live and PLEASE GOD (as you are in fact living) that you do so more and more.

Romans 12:1 ESV
I appeal to you therefore, brothers by the mercies of God to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, HOLY AND ACCEPTABLE TO GOD, which is your spiritual worship.

Enoch pleased God

Hebrews 11:5 - ESV
By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having PLEASED GOD.

The Greek word for pleased in Hebrews 11:5 means to gratify entirely. God was so gratified with
Enoch that he couldn’t wait for him to die to be with him, so he took him. What a pleasing (worship/reverencing) life.

What God said about Jesus

This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Matthew 3:17) Matthew quotes God through the prophet Isaiah saying, Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, my Beloved in whom my soul is well pleased… (Matthew 12:18; Isaiah 42:1)

How should Christians please God?

We please God by obeying His Word (living by the Spirit). This is not the era where we begin to follow a set of commandments that we can never fulfill; Now we have the Spirit of God (Empowerment/Make Possible Ability) in us to fulfill the law of LOVE.

(Rom 8:8 [NET])
Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

(Gal 5:16 [KJV])
[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

(Heb 11:6 [NET])
Now without faith it is impossible to PLEASE him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Romans 8:5
"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit".

Brethren, Determine in your heart today to live a life pleasing unto Christ. How will a man say he pleases God without obeying His Word? This is not God-like.

Let’s please God and get ready for a life of glory!

7 Supplements/Additives to faith

seven supplement additives to faith faithsuccess
2 Pet 1:5-8 (KJV BIBLE)

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall] neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Pet 1:5-8 (NET BIBLE)
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge; to knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness; to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish love.
For if these things are really yours and are continually increasing, they will keep you from becoming ineffective and unproductive in your pursuit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more intimately.

2 Peter 1:5-9 - TLB
But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith; you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough. For then you must learn to know God better and discover what he wants you to do.  Next, learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become patient and godly, gladly letting God have his way with you.  This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will grow to love them deeply.  The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ.

THE SEVEN VITAL SUPPLEMENTS

Supplement one: Add to your faith virtue.

Supplement  two: And to virtue knowledge.

Supplement  three: And to knowledge temperance.

Supplement four: And to temperance patience.

Supplement  five: And to patience godliness.

Supplement  six: And to godliness brotherly kindness.

Supplement  seven: And to brotherly kindness charity (love).

The supplements are VIRTUE, KNOWLEDGE, TEMPERANCE, PATIENCE, GODLINESS, BROTHERLY KINDNESS, CHARITY.

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE BEGINS WITH FAITH

And by faith we have been SAVED not of works lest any mans should boast

SUPPLEMENT ONE: ADD TO YOUR FAITH VIRTUE.

 2 Peter 1:1-4
This first quality listed (virtue) mainly means "excellence", it infers "the fulfillment of a thing." When anything fulfills its purpose, that is "virtue - moral excellence." The land that produces crops is "excellent" because it is fulfilling its purpose. The tool that works correctly is "excellent" because it is doing what it’s supposed to do.
A Christian shows "excellence" when he is fulfilling his purpose in life (Gods purpose). True virtue in Christianity is not adding certificates upon certificates, nor "polishing" human qualities, but producing divine qualities that makes the person more Christ Like.

SUPPLEMENT  TWO: AND TO VIRTUE KNOWLEDGE.

The word translated "knowledge" in 2 Peter 1:2-3 means "full knowledge" or "knowledge that is growing." It is BASED ON THE BEDROCK OF GOD'S WORD.
It suggests Practical knowledge or discernment based on God’s word. It refers to the ability to handle life successfully.
When Jesus met the devil out there in the wilderness, after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, Satan said, "If you be the Son of God, command these stones to be made bread." Jesus had been fasting, and He was hungry. You know how tempting it is when you want food! Jesus was being tempted. But He based his faith on the written word (BIBLE) not emotions!
Jesus said, "Satan, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

SUPPLEMENT  THREE: AND TO KNOWLEDGE TEMPERANCE.

Temperance is the next quality on Peter's list of spiritual virtues, and it means self-control. "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city" (Prov 16:32). "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls" (Prov 25:28).
They called Jesus a glutton and winebiber, and prince of devils. They spat upon Him. They scorned Him. They nailed Him to a cross, yet he rebelled not.

SUPPLEMENT FOUR: AND TO TEMPERANCE PATIENCE.
Patience is the ability to endure when circumstances are difficult. Self-control has to do with handling the pleasures of life, while patience relates primarily to the pressures and problem of life. (The ability to endure problem people is "long-suffering') Often, the person who "gives in!' to pleasures is not disciplined enough to handle pressures either, so he "gives up."
Patience is practical, we must work at it. James 1:2-8 gives us the right approach. without trials we could never learn patience. We must, by faith, let our trials work for us and not against us, because we know that God is at work in our trials. Nobody enjoys trials, but we do enjoy the confidence we can have in trials that God is at work, causing everything to work together for our good and His glory.
Too many people today don't know how to wait. It is when we wait upon the Lord that we renew our strength
PEOPLE LIKE DOING THINGS IN A HURRY. JESUS SAID WE SHOULD BY PATIENCE INHERIT THE PROMISE, ALSO THE SCRIPTURE SAYS HIM THAT BELIEVETH SHALL NEVER MAKE HASTE. BRETHREN PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE, ADD IT TO YOUR FAITH.

SUPPLEMENT  FIVE: AND TO PATIENCE GODLINESS.

Godliness simply means "God-likeness." In the original Greek, this word meant "to worship well." It described the man who was right in his relationship with God and with his fellowman. It is that quality of character that makes a person distinctive, living above the petty things of life, the passions and pressures that control the lives of others. A Godly man seeks to do the will of God and, as he does, he seeks the welfare of others.
Godliness is not an impractical thing, because it is intensely practical. The godly person makes the kinds of decisions that are right and noble. He does what is right because it is right and because it is the will of God.

SUPPLEMENT SIX: AND TO GODLINESS BROTHERLY KINDNESS.

Brotherly kindness (‎Philadelphia ‎in the Greek) is a practical virtue. If we love Jesus Christ, we must also love the brethren. Our Love should be genuine not in pretense. "Let brotherly love continue" (Heb 13:1). The fact that we love our brothers and sisters in Christ is one evidence that we have been born of God (1 John 5:1-2).
"Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love" (Rom 12:10).

SUPPLEMENT SEVEN: AND TO BROTHERLY KINDNESS (LOVE).

But there is more to Christian growth than brotherly love; we must also have the sacrificial love that our Lord displayed when He went to the cross. The kind of love ("charity") spoken of in 2 Peter 1:7 is agape love, the kind of love that God shows toward lost sinners. This is the love that is described in 1 Cor 13, the love that the Holy Spirit produces in our hearts as we walk in the Spirit (Rom 5:5; Gal 5:22). When we have brotherly love, we love because of our likenesses to others; but with agape love, we love in spite of the differences we have.
It is impossible for fallen human nature to manufacture these seven qualities of Christian character. They must be produced by the Spirit of God. To be sure, there are unsaved people who possess amazing self-control and endurance, but these virtues point to them and not to the Lord. They get the glory. When God produces the beautiful nature of His Son in a Christian, it is God who receives the praise and glory.

2 Pet 1:10-11 (NET)
…for by doing this you will never stumble into sin. For thus an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided for you.

2 Peter 1:10-11 - TLB
… and then you will never stumble or fall away.  And God will open wide the gates of heaven for you to enter into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
