Understanding Salvation

Understanding Salvation
salvation1The story of mankind as found in the Bible (book of Genesis) is a fascinating one that you will want to read for yourself. Although science may lead us to believe that we came from some single-celled life form in the sea, the Bible tells us otherwise. In the Bible, you will find that God created man separately from other life. He created two people—one male, whom He called Adam, and one female, whom Adam called Eve. When Adam and Eve walked the earth, things were harmonious and peaceful. The Lord loved both Adam and Eve and considered them one being. He blessed them and commanded them to "Be fruitful, and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it..." He told them to have "...dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth" (Genesis 1:28, NKJV). In essence, God gave the earth to them, He placed both Adam and Eve in a garden (Gen 2:8) and told them to eat of every tree in the garden except from the tree of the knowledge of Good and evil, that the day they will eat it they will surely die (Gen 2:16,17). But an enemy (Satan) came and deceived them to eat the forbidden fruit (Gen 3:1-7). This resulted in the fall of man – separation of man from God (Gen 3:8-19).
The consequence of sin is all around us. Today, some people think that they don't need God in their life. They hear this old story and think it is not true; they try to live a carefree life, as if nothing had ever happened to the earth and as if no evil exists within them; but this is self-deception. All have need for God. Although we didn't personally make the choice to sin, as descendants of God's creation (Adam and Eve) and members of the same family, the Bible says that we have inherited this sin by nature or as God said, death (Romans 5:12). Even if you don't consider yourself a bad person, you cannot deny that you haven't done some wrong in your life. These are by-products of being separated from God's nature, a nature that loves, kind, and respectful and one that treats others as you would want to be treated. Whether "good" or "bad" by society's measure, Romans 3:23 says that, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." This means that all people need redemption.
There was a person sent by God (John 3:16), His name is ‘Jesus,’ the only begotten son of God, God sent him for this purpose to take away sin and its ugly effects from mankind by dying on a cross – being crucified. Jesus paid the price for all sin with His blood on the cross so that all a person has to do to be redeemed and have all their sin washed away is to personally accept him as their Saviour - God's plan of salvation. It's that simple. What you need to do to obtain this salvation is to receive Jesus into your heart and life. You can do this through prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father ...
I come to you in the name of Jesus.
Your Word says, "... him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37),
So I know you won't cast me out, but you take me in,
And I thank you for it.
You said in your Word, "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rom. 10:13).
I am calling on your name, So I know you have saved me now. You also said, "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9-10).
I believe in my heart Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe that He was raised from the dead for my justification.
And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because your Word says, "... with the heart man believeth unto righteousness ..." and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Cor. 5:21)... And I am saved! Thank you, Lord!

Congratulations, when you prayed this sinner's prayer, you were washed clean of sin and have become righteous in God's sight- a saint (Romans 10:9-10). You have just escaped eternal damnation – hell (John 3:16). Welcome into the family of the beloved (Ephesians 1:6).
My advice for you after this is to start attend a bible believing church and to give diligence to the word of God (Heb 10:25, 2 Tim 2:15). God Bless you.
